Our mission is to provide resources for, and to advocate for, medical professionals, volunteers and families caring for children with life-limiting illnesses, and to ensure the availability of compassionate, comprehensive care across the State of Michigan.
- 1.25 Nursing Contact Hours: The NorthStar Institute is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.​

- 1.0 Social Work CEU: This course is approved by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative

Palliative care providers regularly care for patients with a serious illness, many of whom are engaging in the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) either alone or along with traditional medical therapies. A subset of these patients may be engaging in therapies that not only have little or no evidence for efficacy, but also carry significant potential risks to their health and well-being.
